Changelog: what's new in each version
Everything that changed in each version, newest first. The app updates itself; on Android you are told when a new APK is out.
1.1.2
3 October 2026
- Free plan: the films and TV shows in your playlist can now be browsed, with posters, synopses and seasons, and they show up on Home and in search. Watching them is Premium; the menu marks them with a star.
- Android: on Android 16 the remote's Back button closed the app from any screen. It now closes what is open first (a window, a page, the player), as on other versions.
- Film and series page: Back closes only the Premium notice and leaves you on the page, with Play still selected.
- macOS: also brings the anonymous statistics fixes from 1.1.1 (minutes watched no longer lost on closing, no reports counted twice).
1.1.1
3 October 2026 · Android and Windows only
- Android: skip intro works whichever player engine plays the episode. A dropped connection no longer leaves an episode on VLC for days, and the compatibility mode listens too.
- Android: when the device's own audio decoder fails, or it has none for the sound (Dolby Digital Plus or DTS on many phones), the app decodes it itself and stays on its main player instead of switching to VLC. Those films and channels keep skip intro and subtitle sync.
- Android: updated player engine, with more precise seeking in MKV files with several tracks and more of their subtitles shown.
- Anonymous statistics: minutes watched are no longer lost when the app closes, a resent report is not counted twice, and multi-view counts as live TV. Off with the same switch in Settings › General.
1.1.0
2 October 2026
- The next-episode prompt focuses Play now automatically: press OK on your remote to continue.
- Adding a favourite while watching an episode saves the series, so you can open its seasons and episodes from Favourites. Existing episode favourites are kept as they were.
- Playback fixes when opening or switching content. Cancelled desktop conversions release their resources, and local recordings play and support seeking.
- Anonymous device statistics distinguish Fire TV from Android TV when that information is available. They remain controlled by the statistics switch in Settings.
- Spanish translation fixes in source setup, profiles, player controls and subtitle errors.
1.0.40
28 September 2026
- Your own media server: add a Jellyfin or Emby server with its address, user and password (the password is not kept, only the key the server gives the app), or a Plex server by entering a four-letter code at plex.tv/link. Its films and series appear in Movies and Series with covers, plots, seasons and episodes. If a Plex server changes address at home, the app finds it again.
- Open an M3U playlist from a file on your phone or computer. The app keeps its own copy, you can replace it from Settings, and it goes into backups. Not offered on televisions, which have no file picker.
- Skip intro now works on televisions that send Dolby sound straight to their speakers or soundbar, such as some MStar-based models: it used to hear nothing of those series. It also listens only to the start and the end of each episode, so it costs nothing in between.
- Windows: a film or channel whose picture the app cannot decode is converted on the fly instead of showing an error, first quickly and, if that is not enough, fully.
- Windows (Microsoft Store): fixes a rare crash when closing or switching a live channel with Dolby sound.
- Required updates: when a version is too old to keep working, the app says so on a single screen with the button to update, the way each device updates (the app itself on Windows, the store, or the new APK).
- The anonymous statistics now also count, while something plays, that it is playing and of what kind (live TV, film, episode…), never which channel or title, so we can see how many people watch at once. They also count the new kinds of source. Off with the same switch in Settings › General.
1.0.39
27 September 2026
- Buy Premium from the app: in Settings › Account & Plan, "Yearly · 7 days free" and "Lifetime licence" open the checkout with your account's e-mail already filled in, in your language, so the purchase always lands on your account. Payments are handled by Freemius.
- Premium turns on by itself when you come back to the app after paying; no need to press Refresh.
- Cancel your subscription from the app (you keep Premium until the end of what you paid for), and "Invoices and payment" opens your customer portal with receipts and card.
- On the free plan, Home shows one card a day about a Premium feature your list can use, instead of the fixed banner. "Not now" hides it for the day, and that card for two weeks. Nothing shows while you watch.
- The remote reaches every button of the Home card, and moving left or right inside it no longer jumps to another row.
1.0.38
25 September 2026
- Sign-in e-mails now arrive in the language the app is shown in, not the device's (a Spanish app on an English TV got English e-mails).
- Anonymous statistics now count which features are used, minutes watched by type and how smoothly playback starts, to decide what to improve next. Never what you watch or which list; you can turn them off in Settings › General.
1.0.37
25 September 2026
- Skip intro and credits (Premium): after two episodes of a series the app recognises its opening and end credits by their sound. A button skips the opening a couple of seconds after it starts, and the next episode is offered as soon as the credits begin. In Settings › Playback you can make both automatic, or turn them off.
- Chromecast from Android phones and tablets and from Windows: send what you are watching to a TV with Chromecast or Google TV, including files the TV cannot open by itself, which the app converts on the fly. Pause, jumps and the progress bar drive the TV.
- Your devices stay linked: when every device of your plan is in use, signing in on a new one lets you choose which one to unlink, instead of signing out the oldest. Up to 3 unlinks every 30 days; signing out from a device itself never counts. Devices are now listed by their model.
- New plans: yearly with 7 days free, or lifetime, both for 5 devices with 2 watching at once.
1.0.36
24 September 2026
- Made for phones too: on a phone the app now uses its own sizes instead of the television ones, so more fits on screen, Settings opens full screen and every tab is in view. Tapping the picture while watching shows the controls without pausing.
- A more natural remote: it goes back to where you were when you return to a list, a Settings page or the channel manager, the player’s side panels keep the focus inside until you close them and Back returns to the button that opened them, and Settings pages move to the nearest option instead of skipping whole sections.
- Confirmation windows in the app’s own style and language (Android used to show “CANCEL / OK” in English), Back closes only the window on top, the Multi-view tick can be tapped on phones and tablets, and Refresh also reloads the TV guide.
- Fixes a rare error when closing or switching a live channel.
1.0.35
23 September 2026
- News from us inside the app: a short line at the top when there is something worth knowing (a new feature, planned maintenance, a version that needs updating). Close it and it stays closed.
- Better at finding what goes wrong: if the app runs into an error or a channel fails to play, it can now tell us about it, with web addresses, IPs and e-mails removed before anything is sent. You can switch it off with the rest of the anonymous statistics in Settings › General.
1.0.34
22 September 2026
- Nothing changes in how the app looks or works. This release only teaches it to tell its own install statistics apart by device type (TV, phone, tablet, computer) and by where it was installed from, so real use can be told apart from a test account without touching anything a person sees.
1.0.33
21 September 2026
- The TV guide stays accurate as time passes. Programmes without an end time no longer remain on screen for days, overlapping entries choose the most recent programme, and the guide refreshes when a programme ends or the app returns from the background.
- Each playlist can correct its guide time by up to twelve hours and each channel can be matched by hand to the right guide entry. Guide programmes also appear in search: a programme on now opens its channel, while a future one can be watched, recorded or saved as a reminder.
- The app can start on the last channel you watched, including the right playlist when you use several. It will not start a missing channel or cross a parental lock.
- Preferred audio and subtitle languages now work across the browser, HLS, ffmpeg and Android's native players. Track names such as spa, es-419 and Castellano are recognised without mistaking names such as ESPN for Spanish.
- Remote-control navigation has been polished on a real television. The highlight keeps room above and below it in long lists and grids, moving down from Home no longer opens the side menu, and passing over a text field no longer opens the on-screen keyboard until OK is pressed.
1.0.32
20 September 2026
- Coming back from a film, a series or a channel puts you where you were. Leaving the player or a title's page used to send the catalogue back to the top, so finding your place again meant scrolling through thousands of titles; now the highlight returns to the very card you left from — and to the channel you had zapped to, if you changed it while watching.
- Covers load several times faster and stop being downloaded over and over. The catalogues link to full-resolution artwork — two megabytes for a poster drawn the size of a thumbnail — so one screen of films pulled 27 MB and none of it stayed cached. The app now asks for the size it is actually going to draw, and a screen you have already seen now loads without touching the network at all.
- The player's audio and subtitle tracks have their own panel. They used to appear twice, once behind the subtitles button and again inside the options menu; the gear now holds how a title plays — speed, picture shape, subtitle size and the sleep timer — and the other button holds what plays.
- Subtitle size can be changed while watching, from the gear, and it sticks for the next title too.
- The side menu no longer stays open across the category column. Choosing the screen you were already on left the highlight inside the menu, and a menu with the highlight stays open.
- On a remote, the volume bar only opens once you step into it. Arrowing onto the speaker used to unroll it as if you had pressed OK.
- Moving around a long catalogue with the remote is quicker: the app no longer measures thousands of off-screen cards on every press of the D-pad.
1.0.31
20 September 2026
- Sending a film or a channel to a Chromecast works. The app was refusing to load Google's own cast component, so the button answered with an error every time; nobody could have cast anything before this.
- The app now tells the system which language it is in, so screen readers no longer announce a Spanish interface as English.
1.0.30
20 September 2026
- The banner with the channel and what is on now no longer comes back by itself while you are watching: it appears when you tune in and then stays out of the way. It used to reappear every few minutes, over the film.
- Dates and times follow the language you chose for the app. With the app in English on a Spanish computer, the clock and the guide still said "Dom, 20 Sept".
1.0.29
19 September 2026
- On Android, Automatic now tries three players in turn: the television's own player first, then VLC, which keeps the picture on the hardware and the 5.1 sound, and only then the compatibility player. Each one picks up where the last one stopped, and the app remembers what worked for each channel and film.
- Some 4K films the television's player could not read stopped after a few seconds; they now move on to the next player straight away instead of retrying for half a minute.
- The remote's Back button leaves the player again after using the player options: before, it could stop responding and the only way out was the X.
- While a video has no picture yet, the screen stays black instead of showing a white box with a play symbol.
1.0.28
19 September 2026
- On Android TV and phones, VLC is now available as a third player. In Settings › Playback you can choose it for live TV, films or TV shows: it plays almost any stream, with Dolby and DTS sound decoded by itself, subtitles and audio tracks included.
- Settings › About lists the open-source software the app is built with (FFmpeg and VLC).
- Because VLC is included, the Android download is larger (about 58 MB).
1.0.27
19 September 2026
- On Android TV and phones, the channel preview in Live TV and the multi-view tiles now play through the device's own video player too. Channels whose preview froze on one frame (Movistar+ among them) now move, and multi-view shows four HD channels at once smoothly.
- While multi-view is open, the Live TV preview stops, so it no longer uses one extra connection to your provider.
- The first-run screen links to a short setup video: ondaly.tv/tutorial.
- Android is more secure: the app's internal streaming server only answers the app itself, and the support switch for diagnosing playback is left out of published builds.
1.0.26
19 September 2026
- Films and TV shows get a View choice, next to Sort: an automatic grid, a list with the plot of each title, or a fixed 3 to 9 posters per row. The app remembers it.
- On televisions and phones the catalogue posters are smaller, so a screen shows five or six across instead of three or four.
- Text on televisions is sized for the screen: on 720p and 1080p sets alike the Live TV columns, the Home banner and the first-run screen now fit, with nothing cut off or hidden.
- Channel names and TV guide titles that do not fit end in "…" instead of being cut mid-letter, and the guide no longer shows empty boxes on televisions.
- A playlist's untitled group reads "No category", and phones show up as Android (not Android TV) in your account's device list.
1.0.25
19 September 2026
- On Android TV and phones, channels and films now play through the device's own video player, on its hardware decoders. Channels that froze on one frame (Movistar+ among them) play smoothly, Dolby audio plays as it is, and jumping around a film is instant.
- Settings › Playback lets you choose the player for live TV, films and TV shows. Automatic, the default, falls back to the compatibility player by itself when something will not play, and remembers it for that channel.
- Subtitles inside films work on Android, including the picture ones from DVDs and Blu-rays. With several to choose from, the subtitles button opens the list.
- Films on Android show their progress bar and time left, and the app no longer runs out of memory after a few jumps through a long film.
- The remote's Back button closes the player options, and the add-a-playlist screen no longer flashes up at start.
- Much sturdier overall: a broken playlist, a provider that does not answer or damaged saved data now shows a clear message instead of a blank screen, and the player recovers by itself from streams that stop.
- Many screens that were still in English are now in Spanish.
1.0.24
18 September 2026
- Live television has sound on Android TV. Channels whose audio the browser quietly drops -- most Spanish ones, which broadcast in AC-3 -- played a perfect picture in complete silence; the app now notices and puts the audio through its own converter.
- The channel preview plays with sound too, and it can be silenced in Settings › Playback. It also stops while you are watching something, instead of holding a second connection open behind the player.
- Closing a channel leaves the highlight on it, instead of dropping into the channel filter and opening the on-screen keyboard.
- Text and spacing are sized for a television rather than for a phone: an Android TV reports a screen far smaller than it is, and the app had been believing it.
1.0.23
18 September 2026
- Live TV shows what is on the highlighted channel, where its logo used to be: a small, silent picture that starts once the highlight settles and stops the moment it moves. It can be turned off in Settings › Playback.
- The "could not play this" warning no longer sits over a channel that is playing perfectly: it goes as soon as pictures come back.
1.0.22
18 September 2026
- Channels open again on Android TV. A playlist that redirects its manifest to another host, and one that answers with a raw stream instead, both left the player spinning; the first was asking for video segments in the wrong place, the second was being read as text that never ended.
- Live TV shows its channel panel on a television again: the app was treating a 55-inch screen as a shrunken desktop window, because that is what the size it reports looks like.
- Coming back from a channel, a film or a series leaves the highlight where it was, instead of parking it in the side menu and leaving it open over the content.
- Back on the home screen asks before leaving the app.
1.0.21
18 September 2026
- Signing in accepts a review address opened from the back office: typing it is enough, with no code to wait for. For app-store reviewers and press, who cannot read our mailbox.
1.0.20
18 September 2026
- A playlist can be corrected instead of added again: its address, user and password are now in the edit form, filled in. Changing a password used to mean deleting the list and losing its favourites, history and channel order with it.
- Text fields wait for OK before they take the keyboard. Walking down a form on a TV used to open and close the on-screen keyboard at every field; now the highlight passes over them and OK steps in.
- The remote remembers where it left the menu: going right into the content and back left returns to the item you came from, and up from the first menu entry no longer jumps to the far corner of the screen.
1.0.19
18 September 2026
- On Android and Android TV, channels whose playlist is genuine HLS opened to a black screen: the app was asking for their video segments at an address that does not exist. They play now. Providers that serve plain MPEG-TS, which is most of them, were never affected.
1.0.18
18 September 2026
- No playlist of your own yet? The first screen now offers a demo one: three channels with a guide, a couple of films and a series, freely licensed, and removable like any other playlist. On a TV it saves typing a web address with the remote.
- Movies and series showed their rating halved when it came from the playlist itself: a 6.4 read as 3.2.
- "Restore from backup" is in Spanish now, like the rest of that first screen.
1.0.17
18 September 2026
- On a TV, the remote can now leave the list-type selector when you add a playlist: it used to swallow every press, so the rest of the form was out of reach.
- The volume bar in the player no longer swallows the D-pad: press OK to set the volume with left and right, OK or Back to step out. It was also hiding the buttons to its right (information, channel list, options, full screen), which the remote could never reach.
- Back works again while the volume bar has focus, so the player can always be left.
- The progress bar gives up up/down so the remote can step off it, and keeps left/right to move through the film.
- In the TV guide, OK on a programme still to come offers to watch the channel, record it or set a reminder: until now those last two lived in buttons only a mouse could reach.
- With a dialog open, the arrows stay inside it instead of wandering off to the menu behind, and a dialog opens on the thing it is for rather than on its close button.
1.0.16
18 September 2026
- Channels whose playlist is genuine HLS play again: they showed a black screen because the app asked itself for the segments on the wrong address.
- Continue watching keeps one card per series, the episode you left, instead of one per episode.
- Carrying on with a series from the home screen now opens the series: next episode, autoplay at the end, and the season list when you close the player.
1.0.15
17 September 2026
- Settings › About now carries support@ondaly.tv, an address a person reads: write about anything, in English or Spanish.
- Downloads and updates no longer depend on a single host: when the usual one is blocked (some Spanish ISPs do it in bursts), the app falls back to a mirror on its own.
1.0.14
17 September 2026
- The monthly plan's free trial is now 4 days.
- A quiet banner in the app invites you to send your opinion from the second day of use, instead of a dialog opening on its own.
- The free days you earn by sending feedback are added to the period you already paid for, and survive every renewal.
1.0.13
17 September 2026
- Days of Premium for your opinion: send it from the app, good or bad, and the e-mail you choose gets the pass.
- Published reviews written by someone who got the free days say so, as the law requires.
1.0.12
17 September 2026
- Anonymous usage statistics: one notice a day with a random identifier, the platform, the version and the language. It can be turned off in Settings › General.
- A "Send feedback" button in Settings.
1.0.11
17 September 2026
- A limit of streams playing at the same time per plan: 1 (day pass and monthly), 3 (yearly) or 5 (lifetime).
- "Watch here and stop the other" when the limit is reached, up to three times a day.
- "Sign out on every device", in Settings › Account & Plan.
1.0.10
17 September 2026
- Android no longer copies your playlists and IPTV credentials to Google's backup: reinstalling starts clean.
1.0.9
17 September 2026
- Premium keeps working while our servers are unreachable: up to 8 days from the last renewal, and Live TV always works.
- The app tells the difference between a service that is down and a session that is really gone, so it no longer signs you out over a passing outage.
- The version shown in Settings is the right one again (1.0.8 showed 1.0.0).
1.0.8
16 September 2026
- The app is now called OndalyTV, with a new icon and a new home at ondaly.tv.
- Your playlists, settings and recordings carry over: nothing to set up again.
