OndalyTV

A TiviMate alternative that also runs on Windows

TiviMate is one of the best-known IPTV players, but it only exists for Android: Android TV, Fire TV and Android phones. There is no version for Windows, iPhone or Mac. If you also watch on a PC, or simply want the same player and the same account everywhere, OndalyTV is built for exactly that.

What both have in common

  • Both are players: they open the M3U playlist or Xtream Codes account you already have and include no channels or content.
  • A layout made for the television and its remote, with a programme guide, favourites and channel numbers.
  • A free part and a paid part that unlocks the extras (recordings, several channels at once, parental controls…).

What OndalyTV adds

  • A Windows 10 and 11 app with the same account as the television: Premium covers 5 devices, with 2 watching at the same time.
  • Subtitles that sync themselves (Windows app): the app listens to the dialogue and moves the subtitles until they match, including frame-rate drift.
  • Skip intro and credits: after two episodes of a series it recognises the opening and the end credits by their sound.
  • Chromecast from Android phones and from Windows, converting on the fly the files the television cannot open by itself.
  • Movies and series with artwork, episodes by season and "continue watching", and multi-view of 2 to 4 channels.

When TiviMate may suit you better

  • If your only device is an Amazon Fire TV: OndalyTV is not in the Amazon Appstore.
  • If you only watch on Android TV and are already used to it, a change of player is not worth it on its own; try OndalyTV with the demo playlist first.

Moving over takes a few minutes

  1. Install OndalyTV: on Android TV or an Android phone, the APK from ondaly.tv; on Windows, the Microsoft Store or ondaly.tv.
  2. Add the same playlist: paste the M3U address, or type the Xtream Codes server, username and password your provider gave you.
  3. If your provider has a separate guide (XMLTV) address, add it too; with Xtream Codes it usually comes by itself.
  4. Mark your favourite channels and, if you like, hide or reorder them with Channel manager, at the top of Live TV.
